H. Işıl Uysal graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2009. She received her master's and doctoral degrees from the same institute in the Architectural Design Program. Her graduate studies started by working within the fields of embodiment & spatiality, and completed her doctoral dissertation, which focused on urban walks in İstanbul, with the title "Viscosity of Architecture: A Research Through Stitching Figuration and Walking Constructions in the City". Since 2009, she has been conducting architectural design & drawing studios, and giving lectures on visual thinking, representation, construction, bodily practices. She continues her academic studies on architectural detail, environmental perception and matter-meaning entanglement.
