In a globalized world where competition in markets is increasing, products gain significance both functionally and aesthetically. The fashion industry demands designers who can respond to rapidly evolving needs and utilize new and contemporary technologies.
Established in 2024, the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at Istinye University aims to nurture designers who can create designs that align with aesthetic and functional values, possess knowledge and skills in fashion and brand creation, and keep up with technological advancements required by the fashion industry.
Our department allows students to specialize in their desired fields of fashion design. Our comprehensive curriculum, which includes foundational design, pattern making, fashion illustration, sewing techniques, pattern drafting, and both artistic and experimental theoretical and practical courses and projects, enhances our students' creative thinking and analytical interpretation skills.
Our graduates, holding the title of "Fashion Designer," can work in ready-to-wear factories, design studios, official and private institutions related to performing arts, R&D departments of the textile and ready-to-wear industry, fashion houses, and boutiques. Additionally they can pursue careers in digital fashion design, sustainable fashion projects, costume design, trend analysis, and style consultancy. They may also establish their own design studios to prepare collections for domestic and international markets.
